Editorial Overview
This funky tri-level Meatpacking District destination is best described as a nightlife playground: Creative Thai fare (try the crispy Pad Thai spring rolls and sensual Massaman curry) is served either upstairs on beds, or behind the bar on the main level, an area whose Pucci-esque design scheme echoes the interior of a Singapore Airlines 747 circa 1974. If you simply want to get your drink on, grab a seat at the crowded and narrow ground floor bar, or voyage into Highline's mod downstairs lounge. A DJ spins house tunes in this white underground room, which features an additional bar, a waterfall accompanied pool infested with floating white balls, and white bouncy ball seating better suited for kindergartners. A young and dynamic crowd of varying ethnic backgrounds frequents this venue for its awesome cocktails (the out-of-this-world mojitos are about a foot high) and lack of typical Meatpacking BS. |
