Editorial Overview
At first glance, simplicity seems to be the motto for
this place: concrete floor, thrift-store furniture,
and cinder-block walls lined with local art. Their
concept for food and drink is also a simple one:
decent and super cheap. With $2 draught beer and bar
grub for less than $5, you can't beat happy hour at
Laila Lounge. As the night progresses, however, the
lounge is anything but simple. In the large
rectangular loft space, the DJ spins danceable beats
at a volume suitable for both cutting a rug and having
a conversation. There's something for everyone here:
pool, dancing, musical performances downstairs, movies
on the patio, and open mic nights.
